Edgewater Park Water Damage
This home in Edgewater Park, NJ had a significant water loss this winter caused by a broken pipe. It appears the low temperature in the house caused the pipe to freeze and burst. Water flooded the basement and was not discovered for some length of time.
We had to remove a considerable amount of drywall and carpet in order to properly dry out the structure. The standard flood cut is 2 feet of drywall. The process took five days.
During the cleanup process, mold was discovered, stressing the need to address water damage as quickly as possible. Mold needs 3 things to grow: a food source (any organic material, such as drywall), a source of moisture (in this case, water), and time.
